Laura Hulbert has been an elementary educator her entire adult life. Writing has been a hobby of hers for even longer, beginning with a "novel" in 5th grade. It featured an English sheepdog named Mishap, which she thought rhymed with Bishop, as well as a multitude of hand-crafted adverbs such as "smilingly." Since childhood, the miniature lives depicted in doll houses and Victorian paper theaters have intrigued Laura. In adulthood, she loves creating her own little worlds for readers to peek into. Her story "Ashes" was featured in the 2020-21 TulipTree Review. Her children's books Who Has These Feet? and Who Has This Tail? were published in 2011 and 2012.
